This may be shocking to some, but in my 29 years on this planet I've never attended a hoedown. When I saw that the Dallas Farmers Market Friends was hosting one, I knew I had to get in on the action. Last night, the shed at the gorgeous Dallas Farmers Market, was transformed into a pumpkin paradise, primed and ready for two-steppin!
We all had on our finest cowboy boots and were ready for a party.
This annual fundraiser, centered around supporting farmers and educating the community about local food at the famers market, revolved around a silent auction, tasty treats from the top chefs in Dallas and hand crafted cocktails.
We tried nearly every chef's creation, from Mozzarella Company's blue cheese to the spicy pickle selection at T. Rex Pickles. My favorite dish of the evening was the koji chicken sweet potato beet kimchi --shown below-- from Misti Norris, chef with Small Brewpub.
The hand crafted cocktails from Trucky were another highlight of the evening. Trucky is a vintage mobile cocktail bar, and quite possibly the cutest thing you ever did see. Highly recommend hiring these charming guys for your next party.
The Farmers Market Friends really nailed this event. Fun was had by all, and the dance floor took a major stomping when the band played Copperhead Road, always a crowd pleaser.
Duh duh duh duh duh... duh duh duh duh duh
that was my rendition of the stomping, I hope that translated properly through text!
Here are a few more snaps for your eyeballs from this fab event!
