In August of 2012 I loaded up the small amount of personal belongings I had, grabbed my beagle General and drove South from Knoxville, Tennessee to Dallas, Texas. I didn't know anyone in the Big D, I just crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. Along the way, I've picked up a great group of friends, rescued a Jack Russell named Veenie and found the man I want to spend my life with. I won't say it was easy, I won't say it was instant, but over the past 4 years I've fallen madly in love with the beautiful city that is Dallas, Texas.
Dallas Love List is a collection of food, street art, museums and iconically Dallas people and places. One thing I love about the Dallas food scene is that you don't have to spend an arm and a leg to find an incredible meal here, in fact, often times it is quite the opposite. The most expensive places people tend to turn their nose up at, in favor for a cheap, hole-in-the-wall pizza slice!
After spending two of the best years living and walking everywhere in Deep Ellum, my boyfriend and I bought a charming home in Oak Cliff.
Yes... OAK CLIFF... OMG!
People generally gasp at me when I tell them I live in Oak Cliff, but my guess is they simply haven't visited in the past several years! Oak Cliff is charming, thriving and an epicenter for food, art and culture.
Aside from food and colorful street art, I'm a diehard Dallas sports fan. I've never met a ticket I didn't like, and have gone hoarse on many occasions after a night of screaming for my favorite Dallas teams!
I'll be covering anything and everything Dallas related, and if you have any special requests, please don't hesitate to shoot me an email!
THIS IS MY DALLAS LOVE LIST.
